Scope Mount Stromlo offers unique functions in quality surroundings.
With a variety of venue and entertainment options available, Scope Mount Stromlo can cater for groups of any size, for any occasion.

The available function areas include:

One of the coolest rooms in town, Scope café offers seating for up to 80 people sit down or 120pax cocktail facility.

It has floor to ceiling windows and 8 metre ceilings that house a ‘night light garden’. In the center of the room is a heliostat previously used by the ANU Research School to track the suns' movements.

Scope Café is a unique and stylish venue for special event dining; weddings, birthdays, engagement parties, staff Christmas parties. We can also do brunch packages, high teas, mums groups, children’s birthday parties, cycling and car clubs, tour groups…

We are experienced, flexible hospitality professionals, more than happy to creatively cater for any event.

A world-class venue, this space was built as part of the reconstruction after the 2003 fires.  It is a distinguished heritage style space with all the mod cons one could ever need to have a divine function experience.

A beautiful 142sq metre room with bifold doors opening to a patio with views the Brindabella Ranges, this room comfortably seats 80 guests for dinner and can cater for up to 100 guests for cocktail style functions.

A wonderfully groomed internal courtyard offers a lovely informal al-fresco space, also accessed by glass doors. Easy disabled access is also a feature as the space flows seamlessly from the car park and has no stairs.

The space can be fully catered for by Scope Mount Stromlo.
We have a number of menu options designed to suit many special occasions, from birthday parties to weddings or conferences and presentations.

In conjunction with the Observatory Outreach Program, we are also able to organize Star gazing as part of the entertainment for your event.  Guests can enjoy uninterrupted views of the sunset over the Brindabellas followed by a viewing session of the stars through telescopes, a completely unique regional experience.

The Duffield Theatre is a comfortable, fully equipped theatre & lecture space, which can accommodate up to 90 clients. Located opposite the Administration Building, it has modern audiovisual facilities and is easily accessed through a small foyer.

The Southern Lights theatrette and conference space is located in the Scope Café Building.

It is a versatile space that can accommodate between 25-40 people comfortably depending on the seating style.

It has full disabled access, modern audio-visual capacity and can be used in conjunction with Scope Café and the foyer space outside.

A truly unique and impressive offering to local or interstate guests.

The burnt out remains of the Yale Columbia Dome lie just outside the Scope Café Building, amongst the beautifully landscaped grounds.  The Dome has been the backdrop to many a creative function and can be booked for private use through the ANU.

The luscious gardens house a beautiful sundial and are a truly unique setting for glorious sunset weddings.

The gardens have full access to toilet facilites via the café and have full disabled access.

Plenty of parking is available to the area and the ground can accommodate as many people as you can get up there!

Each of these provides memorable venue for any function. When combined with the unsurpassed views and serenity of the grounds, it is difficult to think of a better location for your next function.
